‘I grew up gardening with my grandmothers, mostly picking their cherished flowers, but also absorbing their practical wisdom and plant knowledge. I have always had a garden, or at least commandeered a corner of someone else’s. I can’t imagine not ever having one.
After twenty-five years as a veterinarian and raising a family, it was time to rethink my calling. I had been informally designing garden spaces for friends and family for more than a decade. I enrolled in the Post-Graduate Certificate in Garden Design at Burnley College, Melbourne, and graduated in 2015. My best career move ever.
My own gardens have ranged from suburban plots to rural properties, from Perth to Melbourne. Clients’ gardens are equally varied in location, size and features, and my portfolio continues to steadily grow. I’m inspired by the people I meet and their ideas. I simply help to clarify those ideas and turn them into a beautiful space that is meaningful to its people.
Gardens inspire, intrigue and soothe me, often in equal measure.
