WALDA promotes the value of our profession
We actively promote the benefits of using professional landscape designers through our involvement in magazine editorials, and garden and landscaping show activities. WALDA members have the opportunity to:

WALDA terms and conditions
Membership year will run from 1st July through to 30th June. Members must be financial to participate in events and to enjoy the full array of benefits offered with our membership. Fees may be adjusted at the discretion of the committee if joining partway through the financial year. Applicants will be advised when their applications have been approved or if further documentation is required.
Am I eligible to join?
If you have a professional qualification in landscape design and management, or if you are studying you can apply to join WALDA. Our members have a Diploma of Horticulture (including design units) or a Certificate or Diploma in Landscape Design. Other qualifications or industry experience may be accepted at our discretion.
Applicants must submit documentation to support their application. This might take the form of letters of reference from clients or photographs of completed gardens. It is essential that two completed design plans of a professional standard are submitted.
Design members may use the WALDA name and logo and will be included in the designer profile section of the WALDA website with links to your own website. Full access to professional development events, new product release information and networking events. Special member prices for entry to industry events and the opportunity to become part of our active and enthusiastic committee.
Partners will be affiliated with the Landscape Design industry as suppliers, contractors or other relevant interested parties. Partners will have the opportunity to promote their business to WALDA members at various networking events, professional development events or other events that take place throughout the year. Partners will have a profile on the WALDA website where they can promote their new products and services to WALDA members and those visiting the WALDA website.
Students & Educators Membership
WALDA & SM TAFE have collaborated to enable current Students & Educators to be free members of WALDA. This enables you to participate in the WALDA MasterClasses; Student Treasure Hunt; Professional Development Days; networking Events; enter WALDA Awards bi-annually; plus invitations to various industry functions. Students must be enrolled in an accredited landscape design course, or affiliated course such as Landscaping or Horticulture. Becoming a student member is a great opportunity to be a part of this dynamic association offering you enriched learning experiences and introducing you to industry professionals. To join you need to complete the attached form as a Student or Educator.
Graduate Students (Open to First & Second Year Graduates)
WALDA is keen to assist you in your first few years of leaving SM TAFE. Whether you are not quite working in the industry or are employed by someone else or have started your own Landscape Design Business. A WALDA Graduate membership offers you an invitation to the WALDA MasterClasses; Professional Development Days; networking Events; enter WALDA Awards bi-annually; plus invitations to various industry functions. Becoming a graduate member is a great opportunity to be a part of this dynamic association offering you enriched learning experiences and introducing you to industry professionals. To join you need to complete the attached form as a Graduate. (Note:- If you are changing your status from a Student to a Graduate this form needs completing to update our records.)
Retired members will be landscape designers who are no longer working in the industry for financial return, but wish to attend networking events and social functions. Retired members can make a valuable contribution to our newer graduates and existing full members and we welcome them.
